I have been tatting for about 4 years - prefer simple patterns, with not too many complicated "techniques". I like tatting doilies and edgings, mostly.I am chiefly a knitter so my time for tatting is limited, and I just want to be able to relax and enjoy it all! I have amassed a rather large library of tatting books during my brief time as a tatter - can't resist a new book! Unashamed bookaholic. The thread I seem to use most often is Cebelia 30, and I also like DMC dentelles 80.

This is the reply that I received from Pam Kirk about the knitted lace on my page. You might be able to find the pattern with this info.
"Joy, I'm sorry I didn't get back with you sooner. I had to find the pattern and then I had to deal with my slow dial-up internet which didn't do well with all the shoppers jamming things up. That pattern came from an Italian knitting publication, Lavori artistica a calza 10, Editor Mani Di Fata. I also have 7 and 9. Like most of these publications there is no credit given to the designer. The only date in these is for what looks like a name registration in 1973. I purchased them in the early 80s and haven't seen any of them for years. The patterns are incredible and versatile. A lot of them start with a small doily and then expand the pattern to a centerpiece size and then expand again to full tablecloth size. The one in the picture is a centerpiece size. It has 226 rounds of knitting. I'll bring the books to the next meeting so that you can see them. We may have some of these in the GLLGI Library but I'm not sure. Thanks for getting the word out about the knitting class because I would really like to have it fill up! Thanks and have a Merry Christmas, Pam"
Thanks, Maureen, for your comments. You are so right! I am very process orientated. I should have clued into that, as I am a process not product knitter and crocheter...... I need to be reminded of this once in a while and then I can just relax!!
Thanks for your email, Maureen. No. I hadn't twigged it is you! Good thing the dust has settled - new pastures to explore here, I hope. It certainly look fun.
Its probably 12 months since I tatted the The Rose Rogers. I think it was more than one but less than two skeins, Maureen. Yes you should get some of this thread...Its lovely
Thanks for the kind words on my purple pillow slips. No I did the french knots... could not make notes on the pics until today. My Mom did the Butterfly one...
