Handy Hanane's Tatting

Profile Information

Type of Tatting:
Shuttle
Your Name:
Hanane
About Me:
New to tatting. Wish to learn more. I'm a knitter, spinner, etc. I like all things to do with thread and yarn.

I love the portability of tatting, my project bag is tiny and fits right into my purse. No matter the size of my purse.

Mom to 3. DD 20, DD16, DS 13 So there is never a dull moment at my home unless they are all sleeping.

I have a husband who very quietly supports my habit, by buying me things on his trips. He has brought me spindles back from Morocco to spin with. He is in Morocco now and looking into tatting shuttles or having some made for me. I can't wait to see what he comes up with. I sent him pictures. So we will see.

You guys are so lucky! There is not one tatter I know in Toronto, let alone a group or lessons in person! There are lots of knitters - I used to knit and crochet, but the shuttle has become firmly welded to my hand, so...... Have fun.... sob.....

Hi Hanane, I will try to make it one Tuesday evening. I work in Fort Worth until 4:30 and my daughter dances Tuesday nights in Benbrook. I would love to try to come out. I may be able to make it over Christmas break, spring break and summer.

SCRUNCHY FOUND

It was discovered inside a sweater that was on a shelf in the closet. She hid it there of all places.
My niece got to wear it home today and she was pleased as punch to have it in her hair.

I am going to make her a bracelet with her name. Her Birthday is Sunday, she'll be 5.

Take care and thanks for you happy thoughts about the scrunchy they paid off.

Stupid Cat.....= missing scrunchy

Ok. 3 weeks worth of tatting and the cat carried it off! The crazy critter. I could kill her. Honestly. I can't believe it. It was going to be a gift for my friends little girl. and not it is gone. gone!!!!!! I am sure it will turn up one day in a dust ball that I missed under a bed somewhere. But still. It was my first accomplishment something great!!!!!
At least I have picture proof that I did it. And yes I covered the whole thing!!!

I Finished it!!!!!

3 weeks worth of tatting. I was using a rather large elastic pony tail elastic. No metal join on this one. I think if I tat this again I will go with a much smaller diameter elastic.

Library Limited number of Books But ONE OR TWO GOODIES

Ok I went to the public library. Guess what I found there. Tatting with visual patterns by Mary Konior

I have seen this book mentioned many times in blogs, and posts, and in the photos sections. So was thrilled to see that my library had it. I checked it out. I can't wait to tat something from it. I am not too good with diagrams but we'll see what happens and I am still learning.

Yippee!!!!!!
