Your Name:
Rainbow Rose Connie
About Me:
Several years ago my Aunt Patsy tried teaching me shuttle tatting. But since I was also learning crocheting at the time from her, and teaching myself knitting (though she could have taught me) I just couldn't seem to get the hang of that 'flip' I would get almost half a ring done and yup, there would be that knot (the unwanted kind LOL) so I gave up. Then last week of May 2007 almost a year after we moved, late one afternoon on a whim dug out a tatting book I had found amongst all my craft stuff and decided to try it again (the book was 'Tatsy Learning to Tat' WoW!!!! I couldn't believe it, in less than an hour I was making WHOLE rings without the 'unwanted' knots! And I am getting more and more hooked everyday since then. I LOVE the fact that I can carry it in my pocket so easy,,,can tat when traveling down the road in a bumpy truck, where there is no way I could knit or crochet as easily! I also love reading and studying Scriptures among other things, Gardening, Photography, and just going fishing (even if the fish aren't biting). Just spending time out in nature has got to be one of my most favorite things though,,as long as it isn't freezing LOL!

Update On My Little Pom Buddy!

Wanted to post a quick update. Peach is now home! We got her home yesterday afternoon. She is definitely almost back to her old self again. It is so great having her home!
I am a little upset with the vet's office. The told me over the phone I had a little credit coming,,,,, LITTLE is RIGHT, a whole whopping .72 cents. They made it sound like it was definitely more than that. Then there was NO instruction care at all, just 1 bottle of anti-biotic and 1 bottle of Vitamin K pills to give her,… Continue

Connie, thanks for being my friend. I am a Grammy too and I so enjoy it. I am also enjoying tatting and becoming friends with local ladies in my new tatting group and through Etatters. You do wonderful work...I so enjoy looking at your tatting. There are so many talented people on the ring. I am really drooling over so many beautiful things. It is so nice to live in this age that we can share our work with others nationwide! I love this site! By the way, your grandbabies are beautiful! Hugs, Linda

Oh, this rose is just fabulous! What a refreshing color combination! Is this one that you grew yourself? I remember seeing such lovely flower photos on your blog! :)

I just sent you a message off list. Everytime I tried to get all the info about clunies on here it would disappear. So you should have it by now if your email addy is the same as it used to be.

The pattern for doing clunies is not on the class page, but if you are interested I will be glad to show you to a couple of sites that will knock your socks off. You will want to do clunies after that.

If you go to Georgia's site and click on the 2008 Lesson Index, scroll down to July 22, 2008 Special Event, it will be Pattern 5. The pattern calls for rickrack, but I substituted clunies. I worked the medallion with size 20 thread, but used size 10 for the clunies to make them larger and chunkier. The clunies would work as well with smaller thread, but would be more narrow. Try the medallion, it was one of my favorites from that class, too.
